BMW X5 is on a distinguished road
worked for me as well... took a few tries but saved me a trip to the $tealer g-d knows they would charge me for it too

Yes. I posted the above instructions and have a 2001 X5 4.4i which I have reset numerous times. You might be erring in not pressing the odometer stalk WHILE the display is FLASHING. If you don't do it while the display is flashing you have to start the proceedure all over again.

That doesn't work on early production 2001's. See the article link I posted above.

Yea, mine is an April 2001 build, her's may be earlier.
