Deaddog,
sorry I haven't had a chance to try and find the blue plug , may get to it next week. If I do or don't, will post here. ya bummer doesn't sound good. Since we haven't heard from anyone that has 2006 and has it,
earlier post about it not available in 06 may be true. this just doesn't seem bmw like, but they are changing too.

I had to dig a bit to find the blue plug on the 02, it was right under the CDC, the wire was kind short, it should have a white cover with a short wire loop on it.

I've just bought the VM and can't find the plug!

Stupid question but what is the CDC and SES module and where are they inthe back?

I've looked all round the left hand side of the back of the car with no luck...

Mine's an 05 4.8 with nav, cd and phone, will it have the blue plug somewhere?

Thanks

I posted some time ago that I have a UK 3.0d 2005 and after stripping out most of the boot (trunk) I could not find the plug. The collective wisdom was that it should be there but I am absolutely sure it is not.

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
If you have a mid year 2005 or 2006 and Bluetooth you have VC.

It is the button on the left side of the wheel. The command language is very limited. Hold the button down until you hear a tone then say help.

The VC uses its own phone book which you must program separately. The VC does allow to dial a by number but it takes time. All in all it is a very limited system.

its VC for the nav like "gas station, etc" that we are interested in. I can use VC for the phone but no navigation. thought on forums seems to be that you have to add a module to get VC on nav system. which is why we were looking for the infamous blue plug. I have an 06 , not able to find blue plug.

I'm bumping this thread because I too have BMW Assist with built in Bluetooth that has VR but for the phone only. I wanted to add the VR for the Nav/Voice Memo features.

What was concluded with those of us who don't have this blue plug? Can we get VR for our Nav? Is the feature there and we just need the dealer to code for it?

I almost bought an older VR module but I don't think it will work with my set up. I'm just trying to follow up on any new information.
