Sorry guys, but wife decided it was a good weekend to do yardwork (80s here in ATL - in APRIL!!!), so the install did not happen.

NOC - from what I have read in the past, you have to use some type of adhesive to keep the halos in place.

I got to the point where I just wanted to kick the headlight (as I have no patience) I did manage to remove the waffle on the low beam and change the side reflector, headlight looks much better. I also prewired the ballasts so it will be easier next time I try it again.
I found the baking of the headlight a bit easier, and although it was a little hot I managed to do it right. The glue BMW uses on those headlight is pretty strong when at normal temp. but when baked it is fairly easy to take the headlight apart.
So w/ that said, did any one else try to do this???
I am eagered to hear how it went for others and if it was easy.
TIA.

p.s. I will post pics of the headlight latter.
I used 3M double sided tape to secure mine, others have used some type of silicone adhesive to secure them. Up to you. As you found out, they do not snap in. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately no, as once they are in the headlight you don't notice it. Fairly easy to do. All I did was line up the edge of the tape with the center "seam" of the ring on the inboard side and then trimmed it flush with a knife. Cleaned the assembly well with an alcohol pad and put them in. If you are going to use tape it does add a little to the circumference of the ring so it will be a snug fit. Just be careful not to bend or put pressure on the rings as they are VERY FRAGILE! I went this direction so that if I ever need to replace a ring it will be easier to remove. It seems as though most used a silicone adhesive to put them in. Patience is the key.

I'm going to do this mod sometime in the near future hopefully (the kit is sitting in my garage right now). I just need to know where to tap to turn on the rings when I turn on the driing lights (first click).

Thumbs up

I took a stab at installing my AEs this weekend and will advise that patience is the key here. The process is easy, but requires you to be very deliberate and patient. Baking at 250 degrees for 10 mins was enough to open the headlights and remove the waffles and the ugly orange side reflectors. First I was hesitant to remove both reflectors, but I'm so glad that I pulled the trigger. The euro look looks absolutely great!!!!!!! I did not have enough time to finish the wiring because I'm having a problem feeding the pink/white wire to fuse box on the passenger side. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also I think the wire is too short. Another question: much like the brown wire fed to the driver's side footwell light, can I do the same same for the pink/white wire to passenger's footwell light, or do I need to run to the fuse box as suggested?
By the way, I used a few drops of permatex glue in three spots to secure the angel eyes. I liked it because because it's clear and any excess does not appear obvious. Do not use cement glue or crazy glue.
I will post some pics as soon as they are completed. Will also be happy to offer answers to any questions about the steps I've done so far.

quick question??
Where did you put the glue, on the inside of the light or the outside (the black part of the headlight right)? I noticed that the black part of the headlight does not come off, and that it was easy to remove the waffles, I changed the orange corner w/ some sport ones although it still has a bit of orange on it, they look much better now.
As far as wiring, I did it and it was fairly easy for me. the pink wire does reach and I got that done before opening the headlights the day before. I did manage to find a more suitable grounding spot for the unit. It goes right to the hood bracked which bolts to the fender and frame.
I want to do this so bad but the rings do not hold up and I do not know how to go about this. Pics and on how you went to do this would be great.

I got them from Dave at CustomAngelEyes.com drove to his house and picked them up two weeks ago. I thought about tinting/smoking the orange part but w/ tint they look too tacky since it is plastic the tint does not stick too well. If I change my mind I will paint the orange part only since the rest is clear.
