Unhappy

Just got reply from the Crevier BMW :
The part number is 51-71-0-017-315 for $795.00 + tax 61.61
Our service department charges $650.00 in labor to install them.
Total parts, labor, and tax is $1,506.61
Please let me know if you have any further questions, or if I can help schedule you an appointment.

Thank You,
David V. Rice

Assuming DIY the installation but the parts are still 795 + 61.61......Man where is that 500USD running board, or do I have to bargain for it thru email!? A little help? Thanks

Just a suggestion... send your request to Vaheh at the internet sales desk instead of going directly to the parts dept. Should be in the $550 range, and once you get a price ask if you can just pick them up to save the shipping as they are heavy (if that is an option for you). You can install them yourself and I bet some folks here would even help you!

Try Pacific BMW if for a comparison quote. They should be right near $550 as well.

If you look in the 2006 X5 accessories book on page 6; item C, it lists that part number for those running boards at $725, not $795.

I took this issue up with my dealer and they gave me the $725 price and discounted them 25% for me = $544

If you can assemble a gas grill or a swingset you can do these yourself. The rivets may be tricky but order extra ones, and start in the morning when help here is online.
