roof rack - maybe. paint would probably chip. you might have to get it sandblasted and clearcoated.

What about titanium window surrounds? Use the chrome surrounds from the non-sport X5's, hit them with steel wool to get a matte finish, and clear coat them for a titanium appearance? Your pillars would remain black for contrast. There's a couple of others X5's modded similarly (Kuwaitano) and it looks good IMHO.
Asawadude nailed it. with every word.
The cleanest X5's with Titanium details have some consistency from front to back & top to bottom. Hard to put words to, and I wish I had time to add some pix from the gallery here. (ChristopherM3's is clean, and even that has quite a bit of titan but sharp). The looks that really click often have a band of titan trim low-to-mid body (grills, rb's, and maybe tail handle), and that gleam is balanced by the body color & dark tints above. That might just be my preferences, but since you asked for opinions
The gas door is a killer imo- and roof racks & fog surrounds would probably end up being too much; the handles--hmmm---50-50, but if everything else toned down a bit, I could see them a bit better.

How bout this... Since the door trim kit is on its way, try that first & see how it's coming together. The other decisions should sort out from there.
