They drive on the same side of the road in Germany as the US so you should be okay.

Don't both headlights require adjustment to convert from LHD to RHD and vice versa? It's kind of lame that the adjuster is on only the LHD lamp.

The shutter is inside the lense housing, between the bulb and the lense. From what I understand the lights that have adjustable shutters are for the UK market where someone might drive over across the chunnel to France and have to switch sides. (what staffop said)
