Cool removing headlight washers

i hate hate hate these. i got them cos i thought the more options the better, but i hate them muchly and want them OFF. They wreck the look of the front end and have negligible impact except to leave washer residue all over the front of the X. I'm looking at a new bumper aren't i?

I like an x5 with HL washers better than with none
why do you hate them?

well it's a pretty bad reason - i hate the way they look on the front. I think they're a bad addition and look lumpy and like an 'add on' even though it was built with them in (not like they're concealed in the bumper). I reckon they ruin the clean line of the front of the vehicle. just a personal opinion though... and really, the washers don't do much for the cleanliness of the headlights anyway, in a practical sense.

You might have to replace everything all the way upstream to the windshield fluid tank. There's probably 2 valves - one feeding the windshield nozzles, the other feeding the headlamp nozzles. You would need to find a way to permanently plug the valve feeding the latter. Or you would to replace the washer assembly with the correct parts for non-headlight washer vehicle. It might get expensive.

I agree - if they were a stand-alone option I'd have left that box unchecked... Makes the X look a bit like a rhino...

maybe you might bump into someone thats digging the headlight washer thing, see if anyone wants to trade off...and just switch the parts...an easy DIY.....god knows i dont want that headlight washer j/k...it has its purposes...not in the streets of ny but maybe a snow country...sounds like a nice euro feature

Not necessarly a euro feature. It is offered here in California. All you have to do is order it. I believe it comes with the cold weather package. I don't have them though. I don't need em.
