I am installing a VSM and I ran into some issues and I am hoping someone might be able to help. I tried wiring with and without a relay as described in this thread. I can get the backup camera to display crystal clear while in reverse, but the navigation is not showing when out of reverse. It's loaded because when I switch the key to off I see the video from the navi for a split second before the monitor goes off. My car came with a mkiii but I upgraded to a mkiv -- I tried with both and get the same result. Thinking out loud, I am guessing that somehow the vsm is remaining grounded and taking over the video so the navi cannot display. Here's how I am wired: Red to purple/White wire Black to ground Blue (marked "handbrake ground") to ground Of course, harness plugged inline with factory NAV Relay: Pins 86 & 87 -> switched hot from reverse lamps (yellow/white) & Camera + Pin 85 -> Ground from reverse lamps (brown) & Camera - Pin 30 -> VSM gray wire I know this is a longshot since VSM has offered this device in ages but any help would be apperciated. Here's a video showing what I mean. |
