New Tails

My 2005 red/clear taillights just arrived today, they just look so much better than the pre-facelift sport red/clears if you look at them side by side. i think i got a good deal $86 + shipping for the pair on ebay. Now the problem of retrofitting them to my 2001...crap this should be interesting. Any tips would be appreciated ... i saw the earlier post about needing a harness, etc

ok so if i trim the piece as u said, do i just connect that wiring harness and the tails will work? or is there more to it? btw pic would be much appreciated

also separate question not sure if u know but i have sockets/bulbs for one new taillight (none on the other) and obviously the ones off my old tails, will the old ones work in the new tail or do i need new ones - ill try it anyway

thanks for the help it makes it so much easier to talk to someone who has already done this

Thanks a lot if i can't figure it out by later this week i'll definitely let you know. I don't want to bother you if I can do it.

I got impatient and just plugged in one of the new tails without actually taking the old one out, and it worked fine... EXCEPT the dash warning light came on, is this something i can remedy or is it a dealer issue?
