OK, now I need to do a top speed run in my 2006 non-sport 4.4i. I have had it up to 110mph but that is it to date. If 140mph are being achieved for sport models, that is very good for this aerodynamically challenged vehicle. Besides for tire speed ratings, I'm not sure why the X5 would be electronically limited? Drag will take care of that.

my 03 3.0i is definately limited to 128 in fourth gear at about 4500-5000rpm when in steptronic.

153mph in 03 4.6IS Dinan S3. About a week ago some poor guy in black M3 wanted to give it a go, we were on 80e just past the Benica bridge. Almost no traffic, he shut down at around 140 (after about 5 miles of 130++), I shut it down shortly after, we came up on a couple of cars. I know my X had more left under the hood and I'm sure his M3 did too. When Dinan installed the software upgrade with the S3 package it removes the speed governor that BMW installs.
