This is also why flipdown monitors have to now be mounted at the B-Pillar or deeper back. Last month in Ontario, Canada they passed the same law. There cannot be any "viewing device" that can play any kind of video at all (be it VCR, TV or DVD) in the front of the cabin. You can only have that stuff in the rear of the vehicle, B-pillar and backward. There are 4-digit fines and confiscation if they catch you. If you're involved in an accident, your device will be used against you as evidence of reckless driving. Well thought-out law if you ask me. I support this one.
