Dinan Exhaust

I got the Dinan Free Flow Exhaust installed last week. The sound is fantastic when you first start it up. It also sounds good when you stomp on it on a highway onramp. However, the interior noise is a little more than I want to hear shen driving around town. I haven't heard it from a distance outside the vehicle, but I am concerened it might sound like a Chevy pick-up w/ a Flowmaster and I don't want my BMW sounding like that. The jury is still out on this mod.

I also have concerns about how far the exhaust pipes stick out. They seem too long. Can anyone else with this exhaust confirm that mine is installed correctly?

I think the exhaust looks badass sticking out that far. The install is correct.

I've heard a couple 4.4s with dinan and it sounds great from outside.(nothin like a chevy flowmaster combo) My only thing with dinan is its sooo much $$$

I think it takes a while for a new exhaust to "break-in". Give it time and it should sound better. My Tubi sounded so much better now than when it was first installed.

I'll post pics later, but my '01 has them maybe a little less - It has to stick out to read the "DINAN" label. And yes, the throaty roar gets better with age, yet it also quiets down as you gain speed. Listening for that roar off the line has killed my in town mpg.
