ACS Pedals install and drill bit can't make it throught

Man, i am installing the ACS pedals but my drill bits can't go through the brake pedals even at highest torque. And how does ACS ebrake handle look on light poplar trin? I also bought it with the kit but don't really know how it will look with the trim. Thanks for inputs.

Use a punch to get it started, then a smaller bit to make a starter hole. Make sure the bit is VERY sharp. I found the brake pedal to be quite a bear to get through, also.

I pressed the pedal down first with one hand so that it was firm then drilled with the other hand. You need a bit of pressure to get it started. Place the alum pedal on the brake and use it as a hole guide. After you get one done install the first bolt hand tight to help you hold the pedal in place while you drill the other holes, installing each bolt as you go.

I broke a couple of cobalt bits trying to drill the first pilot hole on the brake pedal. I switched to high speed bits that I buried in another tool box. I also switched from a cordless to a 1/2" corded drill. No problems after switching equipment.
