v1 installation addendum

One other addendum. On the 06 X5 the wire to tap going to the garage door opener is the fat green with brown stripe.

I used a 1 1/2 inch spackle knife to pop the lights & garage door opener out.

i tapped the fat green wire going to the garage door opener. the v1 works well, but now the garage door opener doesn't work. is this the norm? or did i do something wrong? any ideas would be much welcomed. thanks.

Tapping it shouldn't effect the garage opener. BUT we are not using ours so I can't verify mine.

According to some tests I've read on radar detector forums, low on the windshield (but high enough to see out the back window) with a slight downward incline improves detection of laser as it picks up scatter off the hood. It doesn't compromise x/k/ka detection much at all.

Mike Valentine's suggestions can be found on his website. In short: mount HIGH! that includes radar and laser peformance.
