Window regulator again
Y isn't BMW getting better quality regulator since this is a known pb across the models???

make sure it's actually the regulator and not the mounting bolts. Same thing happened to me and it turned out that one of the bolts that mount the regulator to the window had come loose and caused everything to bind. A 25 cent bolt was all it took to fix it.

Windows regulators are indeed a weakness on all BMW models. I got two of them replaced on my X since I bought it and got one replaced on my daughter's 323 last week.

It's a problem with Cable actuated window regulators in generally, BMW is not the only manufacture that has seen failures. Cable actuated regulators are smoother, faster, lighter and cheaper to make than the older scissor type regulators. They can also use smaller less expensive motors to run the regulator.

Can you tell me what tools you used to take off the door panel? I would hate to break a clip.
