BMW Australia offloading E53's

G'day ..... just new to the forum ..... surprisingly had a call from BMW Australia (not a dealer) today seeing if I was interested in an extended test drive (usually over a weekend and usually reserved for "good" customers) on the current X5's ..... so a 4.8 is coming my way in about 3 weeks!

Thought it was ironic that they are trying to sell me the old model without mentioning the new model will be here in the new year

I was in the market for a 4.8 but after all the good stuff that I have gleaned from the forum and articles I will now wait until the E70 arrives and pick up a 2002 or 2003 4.6 at a much reduced value and with the reduction will have the 450 bhp /336 kw ESS mod put on from a local dealer in Australia ..... great work fellas!!!!!

:xoutpost:
Did the dealer offer any incentive laden deals on the new 4.8is? I would think they would have a sense of urgency to move these last models before the E70's start arriving.

Yeh! ..... 2002 & 2003 4.6's are ranging between $85K - $95K AUD $64K - $71K USD at present ..... I would expect a $10K - $15K AUD drop once the new 4.8's hit our shores early 2007 ..... the supercharger mine!
