if that the case your tire will last you about 5k miles,i'm very sure it is the sway bar end-link. turn your wheel to the right or left, and look at the sway bar end link you will see the rubber at both end and i'm sure it bust. or torn.

i have 2001 3.0i the clunking noise it fix at the dealer when it still under warrenty.last week i hear it again and the same problem but now it on the ringht side.

in my case it was a combination of worn inner tie rods, lower control arm and CV joints.
turn the wheel back and forth with the engine off and listen. |
