SES light

Weird! My SES light went on about 10 days ago ('01 X5). Made an appointment with the dealer (8/9, summer is the busy season). Last night, no more SES light. Drove it the day before, it was still on. Last night, nothing.

Guess I'm going to have to get one of those error code readers.

I'll use the appointment to get daytime running lights and why the steering wheel automatically retracts when I turn off the ignition, so I can get my '06 to do the same.

It was not the gas cap. I've only driven it locally, maybe 4 of the last 7 days when I had it tinted (legally).

Only the fault codes can tell you for sure. Could be an intermitent sensor.
