2006 X5 Satelite Radio Question

Just traded my 2000 528 for a new (2006) X5 3.0 and need to get satelite radio installed. I got the dealer to throw in the Sirius hardware and labor for cost, but I really would rather have XM. Here is my question:

1. Is the non DSP/Nav head unit Satelite ready? I was told the vehicle was prewired for Sirius, whatever that means. The salesman kept telling me they have to take out the head unit and install a different one that is satelite ready. I can't find any info to back this up.

2. Can I connect the Pioneer XM radio that worked in my 2000 528 (connected to the CD changer wiring)? The business cd head unit controlled the Pioneer but didn't allow me to save presets. I installed this unit in 30 minutes and it worked great! I really like to listen the PGA Tour on XM and Sirius doesn't have this channel so if there is a way to get the XM to work that would be great.

Thanks for the help!
