Need advice on Keyhole Cover situation...

I ordered a keyhole cover from modbargains almost 2 months ago and I've been waiting on it because its on backorder from bimmian. For weeks I've been tryin to find out when I can expect it and finally a customer service rep @ bimmmian told me that its being painted and I can expect it in mid September. I definitely didn't expect this long of a wait and the irony is that I actually paid for 2 day shipping thinking that it was possible to get it in that many days. I was thinking about cancelling the order but I obviously need the cover because I've been parking without anything on the handle. Do you guys have any advice, maybe if it would just be easier to go to the body shop or something... thanks.

unless ur replacing the entire locking assembly,
what u purchased won't prevent someone from
breaking in thru the keyhole. the cover will just
be one other thing that gets damaged in the
process of breaking into ur X.

i would just cancel... they should at least give you the shipping back, the thing whit this key whole cover, is what happens for what ever reason your actuator/power locks fail? a) brake off they keyhole cover. b) go mad and pull the door off. c) all of the above.

I have been waiting for mine for 4 now almost 5 months.... I have sent multiple emials about the situation and he has responded just as you said everytime... I am not going to cancel my order but I have let the credit card company know of the sitiuation and if needed they will cancel the transaction and invesigate due to the fact my credit card has already been charged. I think the mod would be great but now worth everything I have been through to attempt to get the product.

Cancel, buy a cover from your dealer of choice, get it painted, done. While the Bimmian solution seems easy, the unreasonable delay is just wrong.

I've had my X broken into via the drivers door lock, trust me, the cover doesn't do jack sh*t. you have to remove the entire lock assembly to remove this as a possible way to enter the vehicle..... What you CAN do is have the stealer program the alarm so that the only way to shut it off and hence be able to start the car is via the remote on the original key. I highly recommened this.
