Mirrors won't fold

My exterior rear view mirrors suddenly stopped working (folding in and out by pressing the button on the driver's door). Anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas on an easy fix that doesn't involve giving it to the dealer for an entire day?

They don't fold while you're moving anyway.
If both have stopped, check fuse.

Yes when stopped. Where is the fuse?

If the fuse is fine make sure they aren't stuck. I had a similar issue with my X, the mirrors (one or both) wouldn't fold in. I got out, manually pushed them in, and then they worked fine.

It should be the fuse. If its a loose wire harness it shouldn't affect both mirrors rather just the one thats not working. I had a loose one on my passenger side and removed the door panel and replugged it in.

The mirrors on mine failed. First they would go in when I pushed the button but they would come back out automatically. Finally, they just stopped working altogether. My dealer said it was a known issue with the power modules overheating and failing, so they replaced both under warranty.

Guys thanks for all the advice, but some crazy stuff has happened today and looks like JoeRockHead experienced the same thing.

The mirrors stopped working. Checked the fuses, they were fine. After an hour or so I tried the mirrors again, now they work, but self-open! Then only the driver mirror works and the passenger's is dead, but before it died it made a slowly dying motor sound. Then a hour later they work again. Weird stuff. I'll tell the dealer to check the motors as Joe mentioned.
