4.4 Valvetronic questions
Q1. Is it normal to have engine tappet noise (when the engine is cold) this lasts for about 15 mins? Q2. Do the valve clearances ever need to be adjusted? Q3. I have a flat spot when taking off at about 1/8th throttle or in stop start traffic just as you move off the line but, you know you are about to stop as traffic doesn't move more than a car length. Once it's warmed up this disappears. Thanks in advance. Andy.

Q3 is normal, Q1/2 are not. Take it to a dealer and have it checked out (before you go, make sure your oil level is correct)

Thanks WagnerX5.. Soonest it can be booked into the dealer is 25th of this month.
It needed just under a litre of engine oil tonight. Will see what it's like tomorrow morning. Cheers, Andy
