Exclamation My Ipod

Over the past two days my radio and Ipod has been acting up. First the radio will no turn on, then all the sudden stated working again. Now my Ipod always starts in pause and it stays in pause. I have unplugged the Ipod and play a song to plug the cable again and it automatically puts the Ipod in pause. Has anyone encounter this problem and if so, please help. In additon, I tried changing the playlist and from 1-6 always stays on track #98 I tried to push it to 01 or 02 and it will automatically put it back to track 98 regardlist of the playlist #.

Thank you so much.

Try pulling out the fuses for the radio , there are two of them and they are located in the cargo area right side panel, that will reset your radio. Try it and see if that helps.

Did you upgrade the firmware on your Ipod recently? I upgraded to the latest version of Itunes recently, and it prompted me to update the Ipod firmware. It seemed to work OK for a week, but now on startup the ipod keeps playing the first 2 seconds of the last track it was playing over and over. If I forward it a track it settles down.

What type of iPod kit are you using? BMW or DICE/ice>Link?

If you suspect that it might be the firmware upgrade that's causing the problems. iTunes 7 gives you the option to restore your iPod's firmware back the it's previous state/version. I would prehaps revert back, test, and then upgrade again (or not) depending on whether it resolved the issues or not.

I'll try the earlier firmware and report back.

I tried to restore my ipod to a previous SW version. The restore option in itunes 7 only reset it back to the factory settings and resynced all the content. It didnt have any options to choose an earlier SW version. Its presently on 1.2. Tried searching around on the apple site but couldnt find any details on how to go to a backlevel software. Welcome any hints from experienced ipod heads.

Still need to determine if you are using BMW's iPod kit or the DICE.

I'm using the BMW ipod adapter.

I tried the reset on my Ipod 60GB video. Its still running SW version 1.2. Since the reset the problem with the repeating 2 seconds over and over when you first switch to the ipod has gone away. It still has an occassional skip every 10-20 minutes or so which it has always done. Looks like something different happens after a SW update vs building the ipod from scratch after a reset.

Chris.
