I drove around today with the cover in place and I can't say it sounded all that bad if you can tollerate a little rattle at times. But just 3 miles tonight with the cover removed convinced me to go ahead and get the door cut. Really it just sounds so much better with the sub being unrestricted.

So it looks like the sub will break in pretty easy. A few cycles of some louder music did the job. Probably going to cut the door for the grille today! This thing hits so low it's so amazing.

Good to hear! Do you think the amp has enough room to breathe near the spare? I think I'll mount mine their aswell.

Now we need someone to put a W3 in it to see if it'll fit.

Can you snap a picture of the new rear with the sub cover and the hole cut for the sub?

Did you upgrade any of your factory speakers?

Do you have a volume control or is it a set it and forget setup?

Thanks.

Curtis

Also I have an 18 inch spare so no go on the jack relocating. I am just going to either:

a) Find myself a smaller amp.
b) Build an amp rack.

I've always wondered what was behind here:

Any possible way to get an amp to fit in there? I've been worrying about amp mounting as well in anticipation of the stealthbox. All the info so far has been awesome!

The white thing above my navi player is a dvd player from EAS. I actually will be replacing it with a Clarion dvd player.

All the rest of my speakers are factory and I plan to leave it this way as of now.

I assume you are talking about the gain knob for the JL amp; no I do not have this knob. Luckily the setting I found allows for the subwoofer volume to gain up and down perfectly with the rest of the system.

Here are some pictures of my grille installed into the rear cover. I messed up a little bit on a 10 inch grille so what you see is a grille for a 12 inch sub. But it worked out for the better as the sub in the stealth box goes below the load floor meaning a 10 inch grille would not line up.

Due to bad lighting and 'not so good camera' the subwoofer appears to be visible through the grille. This is not the case the the naked eye.
