Garage door opener won't work

I have followed the instructions to sync my opener with the overhead panel and it looks like it has synced but the door will not open?

Thanks for the article I had the same issue when I tried to program my 01 5 series....I finally did it But didn't know how. I just brought an 03 X5 and set the opener up in less than 2 minutes....Thanks again for the info.

homelink answer

this may help as well. if you cannot program homelink with the handheld remote then you may have to program it at the actual unit in the garage. there should be a red button on the back of the unit and if you push that button then you should b able 2 push the homelink button of choice (there are 3 in the bmw x5) and have it work on your garage door. sears and access units are pretty much known for having to do this. if you need further help you can call homelink at 800-355-3515 and they can walk u thru the steps but u may b on hold awhile. i wuz. littleredrex
