Well to begin to collect data from our diesel X5 what do you think of :
- fuel consumption statistics - average maintenance interval (personal record : 38 000 km between maintenance) - tips for more performances : chips, reprogrammed injection system...and many thing else what do you think of it ? which matter is the most interesting to begin ? |

Got an '06 3.0d myself with mannual tranny and a li'l "Tunit" box; the huge daily torque overdose I get whenever I'm driving it makes me really wonder why gasoline V8's are still around. Must be the oil companies cartels dishing money out to car manufacturers to keep the 'ol gas-guzzling V8's alive....
Long Live the Diesel ! Can't wait to try the new-gen X5 when it comes out with the twin-turbo oil-burner

according to my dealer, even if the diesel exhaust fume stinks, it's stil much cleaner than the gasoline counterpart . under hard acceleration, smoke sometimes come out but it might just be the diesel fuel quality here in the philippines

There is a optional particulate filter on the 2004+ cars. It cleans the exhaust, and are not letting out any of the black smoke assosiated with older diesel engines.
The most impressive with the 218 hp diesel engines, are the the 367 lb-ft torque that are easily chipped/tuned to around 260 hp and 440 lb-ft torque. And all that with 32+ mpg consumption. |
