SatNav Postcode/Perspective Help !!

First post - please forgive me !!

I have a 2004 3.0d with Mark IV reader set up with v24.1 software. I understand from this forum that I could get postcode search etc. from 2006.02 DVD which I now have. I think that to get these features that I need a software update.

Today I went to my dealer to be told that no X5 could get these features !! He went on to say that he could load up v28 for me but it would make no difference.

I read on here that you all have successfully updated your systems - I am now confused !!

Can anyone help a tired and emotional man ??!!?? Cheers

Check out the Navigation section. Most of us have upgraded to V28.

Thanks but I am still confused - why would dealer tell me that I can't get postcode/perspective even with v28 update ?

Not sure about postal code search, but you can definately get the perspective mode once you upgrade to v28. Look under the NAV fourm on how to do it, then go show it to the idiot who says it's not possible!
