Negative - I am talking about the fan selector - last one on the right.

Sounds like you all are well familiar with this resistor. That's reassuring. On the downside, electronics are not my strong suit.

The ODB2 software I have is Digimoto. I got it for my firebird, but wouldn't you know, every car made since 96 has to be ODB2 compliant. I have yet to actually run it on the X5. I can clear codes on my 'bird...I am hoping to do the same on this car. I will advise on that when I get a chance to fire it up. It is only a read and clear codes prog...for actually writing fueling tables and what not we use HPTuners. I have no idea if HPT writes for X5s, but I would definately be interested to see if they do. It is quite a pain to edit your fueling tables cell by cell but the gains you can get out of such activity - even on a stock car - are completly worth it.
