Please tell me its not the CV Joints

My car has 10k on the odometer. For a while now I have been i denial about the problem. If I am park, and turn the steering wheel all the way to the right while reversing to get out of a space, I hear and feel a sorta clunk.

I know that the most common problem is gonna be a cv joint, but tell me its not. lol. If it is, should I have this problem soo soon? How fixable is this via the dealership. A quick process?

p.s.

I'm also starting to hear clicks on my drivers window whenever I roll it down.

Just brought mine in for the same thing but it was the ball joint. Mine would especially do that when going over a speed bump

Is it something to be very wary about? I plan on taking in the X for its 15000 mile service for the free oil change (i did one at 7500 at home). Can I wait. I havent received any error messages.

Very unlikely to be a CV joint at that mileage. CV joint last very long if kept greased properly. I would rather suspect a tie rod issue.

C/V has to run dry to fail that fast. The boots are what fail not the joint anyway. Joints fail if the boots are not replaced when they rip.

Ball joint would indeed make a clunk when going over a bump. Clunk in steering is more likely linked to a worn tie rod.

To replace tie-rod ends you do not need to be a mechanic expert. The only non-standard tool you will need is a tie rod end puller. That can be purchased or rent for $10 or so at almost any auto shop. The puller will make the job much easier to get the worn tie rod out. Do not forget to get an alignment after that.
