help with change trunk light!(brake rear)

can some one tell me how to change the rear brake light(bulbs are bad) up on the trunk door(the third brake light) on x5 2001 ,, thanks

I, too, have a '01 - between 50K-53K, I had 6 "check _____ light" warnings - on the 6th, I told them to change them all - I really don't know how to get at the bulb you describe, but when you get in there, be sure to check the sockets for corrosion (ie, it may not be the bulb) - good luck

Those are rear fog lights for the EU market requirements. You need to do a retro (covered on the home page) to get them working.

thanks,, so you mean the up brake light on the rear hatch ,does not spuse to work,in usa?,, post e link somewhere how to do the connections ,(retro?),,, thanks

I have the BMW TIS for replacing/removing the high mount brake light if you're interested.

what size bulbs does the brake light on the rear hatch use........and how many x5 4.6is 2003
