Question Exhaust Trim 4.6/4.8

I just noticed today that my 4.6 has a black exhaust trim around the bumper cut outs, and I noticed my dad's 4.6 dosent? I also noticed on the 4.6/4.8 BMW brochures that its not in any of pics either. Its just a simple clip in trim. How many of you guys have it? I looked up the BMW parts system and it says its a HEAT SHIELD. Take a look here, its number 15 on the diagram.

Quite a few people have ordered and added these. They are not expensive.

Yeah they are around $9.00! But dont understand why my 4.6 has them and my dads does not? Plus I have searched a few photos on the net and the BMW 4.6/4.8 brochure and they are not shown there either? Personally I think the X looks better from the rear with them as without it looks like something is missing.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I can't see any difference between the two pictures. What should I be looking for?

Notice the plastic trim around exhaust cutout in first pic and missing from second pic.

It's a very Subtle difference. I did not have it on my 4.4 and I had the Dinan exhaust with OEM tips done. I read about this as well but noticed this moreso when I was working with Lemans on doing our trailer hitches.

It's a Subtle difference in looks but basically closes up the *hole* a whole lot better.
