Hah! In Idaho, I run around for almost 3 weeks before needing to fill the tank. Here in SC, I'm lucky if it's a week between fillups. In NJ, it's 3-4 days between fillups. Location, location, location! In ID, everything is within a few miles from home. In SC, most everything is within a 15-20 min drive, with my sister a 40 min drive. In NJ, I typically put 100-160 miles aday just running around between family, friends, and shopping. My '06 X5 definitely wins the mileage war vs my '01.

Yeah, opposite here. Went from a >5 mile commute to a 70+ round trip every day...hence the 50,000 miles on a 2004 X5 that I bought new in August of 2004.

actually although the longer commute of 25 miles each way have cost you more $$$$

the short commute will be doing your X5 no favours and indeed IMO will bring your service forward by a good bit.

although we pay a higher fuel cost here in the UK not to mention our 1 gallon = your 1.20 gallon if I remember correct.

We do benefit from getting much better fuel than you guys.
