Unhappy GEARSHIFT Problem (chain substitution)

Folks!
Need your experience gents!

Problem:
During driving if I suddenly push accelerator pedal, release and again push the car Jumping and make very ugly noise like something broken there (in gearbox). My local dealer after investigation told me following:
There is the Chain in the Gearshift, and it's becoming loose after sometime, that's why the chain on pinion sometimes under tension jump up/slip from tooth to tooth, and this is the reason for such ugly noise.

Question:
Can you help me to find out this Chain, any Part Number?
Or I can find it only in Gearshift complete set?

Thanks in advance!

If there is that much play in the chain that it jumps a tooth, you'll probably find the teeth are worn as well.
For a chain to get that loose it must be very worn - the most likely cause of that would be that transfer unit lost all its oil?
I think your best option would be to get a reconditioned or replacement unit.

It's made by New Process. They make the transfer cases for most major manufactures of 4x4 and all wheel drive. If you want parts, I would go through them.

Parts are available. I checked. It is a NV125. The "NV" stands for "New Venture" (still made by New Process). To make sure this is the one you have, look at the round tag on the Left rear side of the transfer case.

There are two transfer cases used. The NV125 is what I have. There is also the LWX500 (borge warner).

Hello! Seems to be I'm having the same problem: I need chain for NV125 (2001 X5 4.4 l.). Please give me some contact info of who can sell it! My local BMW dealers just offer to get the whole $2K box - it's not the solution...
