Not to nitpick, but he couldn't get his car "open" and could not
get to the hood/"bonnet" release lever...woulda been a moot point
if he could have "opened" the sumbitch.

I still don't get why the "turn key twice" thing didn't work; the manual
suggests it should even with "electrical malfunction".

I'm with Mikeroo: get the freaking door handle fixed and buy a new
batt! And, get a new "mechanic"; Sedoy's sounded like a dummy.

Sedoy, wasn't giving a lecture...
we all do or, "don't do" stuff.

I still repeat stupid stuff; it will only
get worse in your 50s and into 60, lol!

I'm only guessing, but before braking glass I would imagine you can activate the hood release through the slots on the hood. The hood release mechanism is probably connected to the hood latch handle via a cable to actuate and release the lever. I'll look on mine with the hood open to see if I can see a way you can get to yours even closed.

There are two locks which hold the hood, we unlocked one but couldn’t do second one without damaging the plastic behind the grille, also hood release cable impossible to pull without damaging cable and its surroundings.

I'd say bust the grill and get the hood open and then upgrade to the titanium grill...

JK - good luck, I'm sure it's frustrating
