hmm...that seems kinda weird. I got a question for you though, how hard is it to turn the wheel now? Or how does it feel compared to before doing the donuts?

afterlike 5mph or so its okay to turn almost as if everything is fine.
but before that at a stand still if the car is not moving its very difficult to turn as if u dont turn on ur car completely on.. but try to move ur steering wheel, like that when the key is only in 2nd position.

first check your power steering fluid level, then check for leaks underneath ;p

Check fluid level...

It's quite possible you boiled your PS fluid and pushed it out the top of the reservoir. This used to happen on my M5 during track days. You'd see signs of overflow from the top of the reservoir under the hood.

Hmm don't the 4.8is have that servotronic steering? Maybe that went bad.

sounds like speed sensitive steering kicked in... when one has no control on the streering tires, makes no sense to boost it. so it removes the boost to attempt to put some control back in. (ie: when you are going fast, having boosted inputs make you go out of control that much faster)

if that's the one, there's another reason not to go for that option on new bimmers

I have the same issue but I didn't do any 4 wheel drifts. LOL. fluid level is fine and no leaks.
