It's under the floor in the back. You have to remove the spare tire.

Wow, that's a spot for you. Thank you. Any particular type of battery? Eg. Sears, from the dealer, autozone etc...

Try this link

Just call your local Batteries Plus. They have an OEM replacement.

Hi, Greg does the optima battery come with the vent and does it fit perfect in the battery compartment.

I'm only familiar with the batteries plus battery, but if I remember correctly, the optima is not an "exact" fit, but it works(maybe a little smaller?). Not sure about the vent tube on them either.

sammy,
And, here are a couple of links with pics and another
suggestion for direct replacement "brand".

I've never changed my orig batt., but I have checked
its fill, etc. It isn't an engine overhaul, but they don't
make it easy to get to...

Exide do a "Drop in" replacement complete with vent. Around $90 with 6 year pro-rated warranty. If you go to Advanced Auto the put it in for free!

Zulu,
Good tip on the Exide...but, ya'll must have better A Auto joints then
we do here: they will do wipers and easy batt. changes.

They won't touch an X or most foreign cars, even though half the cars here in winter season are non-US mfg and high, to big-big buck cars,
