OK... good... I am not the only crazy one with cleaning the inside. I too get my hand cut up on the rotors. Need to get some gloves or something to protect my hands.

It does look great when it is all cleaning.

I wash them too on the inside. I took them off for this winter and noticed that they sustained quite some 'damage' from little stone particles and sand. Black brake dust has settled inside these areas and is very hard to remove. After hours of cleaning, it is better, but when you look close you can still see it. I guess this type of damage is unevitable. My rims (type 87) have 45000 miles on them...

Same here. I've had the Axxis Deluxe Plus pads on my E39 for several about 4 years now and they do not dust. I've gone a month at a time before washing the car and the car itself is far dirtier than the wheels.

I just bought new rotors and the same pads for the X and expect the same brake feel and results.

I don't do it every time I hand wash the X, but I do it a few
times per year. I've found that lying on a piece of cardboard
or "mat", jes' under the perimeter of the car, allows me to
reach my arm "in, up and under" and get at the insides of the
rims, too.

I have to move around a few times and, a 34" sleeve length
helps, too.

The Vette is a diff. story as I can't get my head/shoulders/chest
under the low chassis, on the front. Rears are clean; the front
insides have never been done. Will have to pull them someday to
do the fronts.
A clean rim is a happy rim.

When I wash the X I use a pair of cotton work gloves from the hardware store inside the washing mit. Saves on cut and brused fingers and thay are great for cleaning the insides of the rims and other hard to get places.

Everytime I wash the X, I clean the entire rim. That's about twice a week depending on the weather. Style 87's are very easy to clean.......Phil

I barely ever clean my rims from the inside, but i took my truck this friday to the dealer and when they washed it, they scrubbed the hell out of the back of the rims. All of the grease and brake dust is gone(well at least most of it)!

I am glad to know that a lot of member here do wash the inside of the wheels. A lot of my friends and even my neighbours laugh at me if I start to get my hand inside the wheels and get cut afterwards. I like to see the car clean and yes even the wheels...Good job guys and keep washing the inside of the wheels
