I'm sorry but that's just not true. The M3 still makes 333 hp at 7900 rpm, and the redline/fuel cutoff is at 8000 rpm. There are no plans to change the engine specs.
Back to the X5, I have a 4.4i on order and I hope it doesnt have this lagging problem. None of the other 4.4i's that I have driven had it.
