Alpine CHA-S634 MP3 Changer Installation?

Hi, all.

I want to install Alpine CHA-S634 MP3 changer in my X5. I have non-DSP/non-NAV biz CD with BT and BMW assist.

I read some articles at this site and think I figured out almost everything I need, but want to double check before proceed.

What I am going to do is just to follow the instructions in the article "Mounting CD Changer", and I think what I need is as follow.

E53 vehicles without Navigation use hardware kit: P/N 82 11 0 009 302

OTY P/N Item
1 99 00 0 001 796 Install Instructions
2 65 12 8 385 988 Bracket CD Changer
8 07 11 9 902 007 MSxl4 Hex Head Bolt
8 61 13 1 372 033 Body Nut MS
1 65 12 8 383 514 Carrier Bracket Front
1 65 12 8 383 515 Carrier Bracket Back
2 07 11 9 915 041 M6xlO Hex Head Bolt

Alpine CHA-S634 MP3 Changer
Alpine KCA 130B Cable
Soundgate Alpine to BMW for non-DSP

1. Are these everything I need?

2. After installation, does BMW biz CD automatically detect and recognize CD changer or do I have to program something with biz CD?

Thanks.

Brian

It seems you got everything on your list. Get the CD changer mounting kit. It has everything you need to mount your changer. You can buy the Soundgate or Blitzsafe module; either will work fine.

if you dont have nav, the changer seems like a real waste of money. If you still absolutely want it at least consider the ipod option.

Good find! Too bad it's only in beta testing and available only in Europe for the time being

tomwac, I saw that you signed up to be a beta tester. Were you ever selected? Man...I'll swap out my soundgate adapter in a heartbeat if this intravention unit is available today.

Yes, I was selected and I'm using it for like 4 months now. Awesome.

Good to hear that it worked as great as it was described in their website! You have this installed on an X5, right? Any glitches or weirdness so far? If everything works out well...I'll be the first in line to order one once they become available!
