Rant - Mercedes vs: BMW

I love BMW's. They are the only cars I've ever owned or leased for myself. My wife, (the CEO) however, does not share my passion, and instead chooses to drive a Mercedes.

I never drive her ML, but from time to time, I get the pleasure of dealing with either MBUSA, or MB Credit. Now I know that many of us (myself included) have from time to time bitched about the treatment that we receive from BMWUSA, but let me tell you, in my experience, MBUSA and MBCC have the worst customer service that I've ever encountered...and that includes Walmart, just to illustrate how poor MBUSA's customer service is.

So, the next time you complain about BMW's customer service, be thankful that you do not have to deal with the arrogant, combative morons at Mercedes Benz. Is it any wonder that BMW continues to be profitable, while Daimler-Chrysler is cutting jobs, and losing market share to Lexus?

I would have to disagree with that, I have the exact opposite feeling. BMW is much worse service / customer service wise than Mercedes. We've had quite a few benzs and this is the first bimmer, and even though I love my BMW the replacement will more than likely be another benz just because of the service I receive from MB (and btw, my BMW is more expensive than my MB(s) ).

I dumped my E430 to get my X5... yes they are very different animals... however, My 430 was my 5th and final benz I will ever own...... never again. Build quality is down.... and customer service does not exist. Ask me about the $1000 blower motor for the climate control, (that is the part cost alone, labor to install is more) or the $600 window switch that failed @ 51K miles, motormounts that failed @ 58K, ball joints at 61K and the list goes on...

The quality of Mercedes-Benz is very poor right know for as much money as you spend for their vehicles.Plus, their warranty is no where near as good as BMW's.

lower end MBs seem to cost less than lower end BMWs (but still very comparable)...but when you go to the upper end...MB prices are astromonical
