It also seems that MB cars depreciate much more than BMWs.

My '95 C280 was A PIECE OF CRAP. I will never buy another Benz again. It decided it was "okay" to lock up the rear wheels at 60 mph, and then it said
"abs" on the dash...Duh! I kinda understand!

Motor, here is the latest dealing with my friends at MB:

In November, the CEO gets nabbed by a red light camera. She has no clue. One month later, MB forwards the ticket from the red light folks to me. They had the ticket in their hot little hands for three weeks, before sending it to me. I pay it the same day that I receive it. In January, I get my monthly lease statement from MB, and it includes a charge for the ticket, plus $25.00, for their "administration".

I call MB and complain. I am informed that they always pay tickets if they receive a late notice from the Gestapo. I inform them that it is their responsibility to forward things of this nature in a timely manner, to avoid the late notice from said Gestapo. I further explain that if they simply would put the lessee's address on the title instead of their address, as BMWFS does, they would not have to run their little profit center, and could probably get rid of a few more employees.

I am told that they are not BMW, and I agree. I'm then told that if they get their money back from the Gestapo, that they will issue a credit. I nicely tell them that as I see it, they have three options:

1: Credit the ticket amount, plus the admin fee.

2: Come and pick up the ML500

3: Dun my credit, and I will litigate them, as I have successfully done to them on another matter.

Can't wait to see which option they choose...

Chrysler is incurring heavy losses and with 13000 job cuts it still does not look good. These losses are eating up whatever money MB is making. Plus the cost cutting guy from Chrysler was asked to help MB in Germany as his new job and he went too far in cost cutting with parts/knowledge sharing between the two and use of cheaper parts resulting in quality issues at MB.
