I wanted to bring this thread to the top as I'd like to install this 'kit' on my own if possible.

Does ANYONE who had this modification performed have their receipt that can either get us a SIB # or a part # for the kit? I have a 4.4...

Thanks!

Hey Chris, give me your email so that I can send you some pics of this mod that they did on my 4.4i. I'll also check on my receipt to see if there is a number for you. Talk to you later...

05' 4.4i is my X. I am going in for service on Thursday. What should I tell them regarding this matter? Is there a number of the part or something?

I had the same problem last month on my 3.0 2002. I'm leaving in Quebec and -25 C is pretty common temperature during the nights. The PCV valv freezed solid and had to change it (modified version) and the valv cover gasket as well....$$$
BMW told me that the valv has been modified (insulated) and told me about this service bulletin... I think a recall would been the good thing to do. I'm glad that I made only 5 miles before I discovered the problem !

Steelhead, that mod is what they did on my 01 4.4i... I agree they should have made it a Recall, this can happen to anyone at the wrong time...

To all:

I found my receipt for the oil separator heater. This is what is on my receipt. SI-11-01-04, Wired up Oil separator hose heater. I tried to up load the receipt but it didn't work. I hope this helps? Anybody else need anything else, please let me know...

I'm in the midst of trying to get the bulletin now. If we can get it we'll post it as a sticky (if that's cool with Jeff) in this forum.
