Angry Dealer owes me?

I'll try to keep this short. Basically 2 months ago I had one green bar left but 29,000+ miles on the car. I was 3 weeks from being out of my maint. plan and was thinking about extending it. I called to see if they'd do inspection #1 for me with a green showing and having 29,000 miles and of course the answer was NO. i'm sure they looked it up and saw I was out of maint. warranty in a few weeks and they could see dollar signs. That was in mid May. Now this monday I called with a bunch of little warranty issues I wanted to get cleaned up and to schedule the $499 inspection #1. "no problem, we are not that busy, bring it in tuesday and we can get it all done for you" said the service advisor. I clearly asked a couple of times if "it could all be done in one day"? Well, I get my call tuesday afternoon that it is not done and they need it to try to duplicate my cold start issues in the morning. Fine, give me a rental car and I'll be OK for one more day. Well, I called this afternoon after not hearing from them and they admitted to me that the car just got pulled in this afternoon because the service guy assigned to it was out yesterday! Two full work days with NOTHING done to my car. I think I should call the mgr. tomorrow and demand my Inspection #1 be free! Any thoughts? (sorry for the long message)

Well, you definitely deserve to be compensated. Talk to SA first and then to Manager. Be little authoritative and tough and little rude as well. I know it's not nice to advice this all but sometimes you have to, especially when someone (stealer here) is trying to make fool out of you. Do let us know what happened. Best of luck.

So is your maintenance over at 30k miles? My 2002 included 36k mile maintenance...at 35,960 miles my wonderful(seriously) service department replaced all kinds of things under warranty...including brakes all the way around!

As for owing you something? doubt you will get very far with that..but Good Luck!

I think tsagg was up against the "time wall", not the mileage cutoff...Gee, I wish we had a tolerable Stlr around here.
I doubt the Stlr owes tsagg "anything", but goodwill/dlr relations may affect the Stlr's decison. BR,md

Oh yeh I guess it was 3 year 36k..I always get that confused since it changed in 2003 to 4 year 50k. Its ashame you guys don't have a good service department. We only have one to choose from here and luckily they are very competent.

UPDATE! Well I called the service mgr. this morning to complain and told him the whole story. I made sure to mention that I was just 30 years old on my second car from them and that I have a lifetime of business to provide. Well, he called me back and told me that he was covering my inspection #1 expense under customer goodwill. FREE! I was very happy but honestly this was the outcome I thought should have happened anyway. I'm in sales and LOVE when I get to be the bitching customer every once in a while. I get beat up all day long by customers!

I got the car back this afternoon. My service advisor called me to tell me the car was done and ready to pick up and he sounded pissed. I'll bet he got yelled at for this one but oh well, they deserved it this time. I truly am very calm and hardly ever complain, but this one upset me.

The facts: simple one day job turs into 3 day job with chrysler caravan rental car = free inspection #1.

Now I hope I don't get 'black listed' from the dealership like when you give them a bad grade on a survey!

Is this from Main Line BMW @ Bala Cynwyd formerly known as Don Rosen BMW?

Or Otto BMW?

I know there 3 others in the Philly 'burbs area (Ft. Washington, NE 'burb area, & one off Lancaster Ave)

Anyhow, glad you it all worked out.

I remember good 'ol Don Rosen and my rear bumper got trashed and they did fix it.
