Sounds like the typical tranny s/w complaint most facelift 4.4 owners have had. You should take this up with your dealer as a lot of folks have been quite please after the dealer changed the trans s/w in their vehicles.

I have the most up to date there is. I am even
going to try the Dinan s/w when it gets here.
All in all, its just a slower car and its on purpose. The author's 03 here is really
faster.

Had the same problem with my 03 X5 3.0....so I traded it for an 03 X5 4.4. last week. Have added Remus Xhausts and Dinan A/T upgrade and Performance Software go on tomorrow AM so I'll let you know what I think. But I kinda agree with the others only supercharging it will probably give you the drastically different power you seek. But I feel ya man!

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
My 2005 4.4 has tons of power, yes the 4.8 is faster and I think the earl yer 4.4 might of been a little faster. Why question is what are you going to do with the extra power you seek?

Don't ask silly questions..

Why'd you get a 4.4 instead of 3.0?
