Loud thicking noise form the engine? What might it be?

Could be a variety of things. Ticking valves is the first thing that comes to mind.

Have you run lower octane gas recently? That can cause knocking in vehicles designed for 91 octane + like ours.

Nope....will bring it in tomorrow to have it looked at....will let you all know. Lucky its still under warranty.

The X just returned after 5 days at the shop.....exhaust side cyl #1 collasped....replased crankcase vent valve, replaced both intake and exhaust cams, cam carrier and hydraulic lifters.

Lucky me all under warranty.

You mean the cylinder in the block collapsed, or part of the cam? Did they say what they thought caused it?
Yowzers! Sounds expensive. Glad you didn't have to pay for it.
