Mike,
Topic is always good for an arm wrestle and a few pages of pros & cons... There is the link(s) method of going out and hammering them vs. the drive "normally", avoid panic stops, etc. Almost polarized in terms of methods. From memory, the last thread on this posited how no new car, with its new brakes, goes through the more extreme method that the zeckhausen, et al. links prescribe. That made some sense to me, esp. when "oem" style R&R parts are used vs. aftermarket stuff. I did do the harder version when I got new oem style rotors and pads, but not sure it offered any noticeable benefit then, or 12K miles later. Pick your poison and Good Luck! BR,mD |

Agree with MD that you will get lots of opinions and arm wrestles.
This is just my opinion, for what it is worth. At that low mileage, and assuming you are under the maintenance plan, they will be OEM parts. No specific break-in required, IMO, just apply them firmly several times to ensure they are seated. The break-in procedures described in Zeckhausen's site work well, and I have used them, but they are intended for pads such as Axxis Deluxe that have not been manufactured the same way as the OEM pads. It relates to the curing process for the pad material, and the temperature that the pad materials must reach. There are articles around that talk about OEM pad material and how it is pre-treated to eliminate the need for bedding in. Jeff
