HID Xenon Installation

Hello,
I have a 2006 BMW X5 (E53), and I am looking into installation Xenon HID Headlights. I have got the MTEC headlights from Ebay and they have given me instructions on how to assemble the kit.

But what I do not have it how to mount it on my X5? i.e removing the halogen holder, wiring etc. and replacing with HID wiring, installing the balasts etc.

Has anyone doen this before, if yes then could you point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Jagan

Xenon Hid installation Help Required

These solutions do not work for me, as I have a 2006 X5. I have facelifted X5 and it has the headlights with projectors. The headlights are housed in a box, with connections on the rear side of the box. So it is difficult to get to those connections with the headlights fixed in the X5.

I tried removing the headlights, but the headlight washer come in the way and hence I am not able to remove the headlights.

Trainer on this forum suggested that I have to drop the bumper to take the headlights off. And dropping the bumper will be painful.

So I want to know if I am looking at this right? Do I have to take the headlights off to get to the connections.

If someone has upgrade their 2005-2006 X5 to Xenon lights please suggest.

Thanks

I would be very surprised if you were able to do this without removing the headlights.

Removing Headlights

Does that mean that I have to drop the bumper. Is there any other way? Please suggest.
Thanks

FYI - Replacing 2006 X5 lights with Xenon Headlights

You do not have to uninstall the headlight to install Xenon Headlights. Which means that you do not have to drop the bumper. Just use the existing headlight holder as power source and you can upgrade the headlights to Xenon in mins.

You will have to remove (or partially remove) the bumper to install HID system properly.

Provide some info:

1. Which Halogen MTEC headlights you got? Those Taiwanese "TWIN HALO PROJECTOR" headlights?

2. Do you have ballast and bulbs already? What type of halogen bulbs you got in your MTEC HLs?
