Or should I just buy oil and do it myself?

My commute to work is 70k one way. I don't want to have car troubles on the highway, yk?

Any advice/tips would be appreciated.

Atleast ur light came on, I took my car in for a service to early and guy check out my car and said that he can't do anything till my green light is gone, but he checked the oil and was really really low, he asked me if my light was on and i said no, because it wasn't on, no moral of the story but i did get a 2 free quarts of oil from the dealer. Oh yea he told me im responsible for oil and checking it unless its a service.

okay this is the fix. you need to have your LCM recoded with the latest version. its not always the sensor. your oil level is almost always ok. this should be max 1h at the dealer.

I really don't get what's funny that, if you can't post anything constructive or helpful, you might as well refrain from posting.
What is funny is that the poster is saying his commute is 140k round trip, i.e. 140,000 round trip. Which I, too, found funny.
I think the intention was to say the commute is 140km round trip...

they probably overlooked to check oil level (big deal but it happens) add 5w30 sithetic about 1.5 qt. and after few miles will bo oK , that's what happened to me several weeks ago. BMW engines are disigned to tak a bit of oil and that's normal, so please check your level between oil changes...
70k each way to work u ment 70 kilometers, right?
