From my experience, the person may screw up the direction of the link. Take a look at the pic and compare to the joint between link and sensor. If that's the problem, reinstall it to the correct position and drive it for 15 mins. It should be fine. And I can tell you that the rear link will NOT lower your X for 1 inch( not even half, maybe 5mm ). The link is useless and the best way to do is lower it thru DIS.

Thanks. It was only after your post did I have any idea of where the link was actually placed. It's hard to ascertain it's postion without lifting the car up though, so I'll check it tomorrow. Perhaps the dealer will have talked with Munich by the time I get ready to go at it, so I don't have to. There is also a bigger dealer closer to where I work, so I'll ask the question there as well. Once again, thanks!

ASHXS, I truly owe you one. I went out this morning with a print-out of what you sent and caught hell with the tire on, and the factory wrench for the wheel lugs would not fit the Breyton long narrow holes, (good thing to find out at home instead of somewhere else needing to change to my spare). So I grabbed my wrench set with an extension and it was down hill from there. I flipped the two regulators straight up from the axle and, voila!! Everything went exactly as you wrote in your post and I'm truly grateful. I called my BMW tech and told him about it and for him to expect me on Monday to adjust the rear, because again as you've stated the rear level difference is not noticeable. I believe he can adjust it normally now and even me out, since the error code is gone now. I can't thank you enough! You turned a potentially stressful weekend into sunny days. Let me know if you're ever in Germany, accommodations are on me for sure !!
