driver window won't roll up !?$#

Things just won't stop breaking on my X Rolled my driver side window down all the way and heard a strange sound. Now it won't roll back up. Is this for sure the regulator? I have read a lot about these breaking. It seems like it is trying to roll up, could it just be stuck (like fallen off track)?

So now i have two jacked up windows, one that i cannot roll up (driver) and one (passenger) that if i roll down and back up comes up sideways because the little plastic clip broke.

Where can I get these parts for less $$? I am just going to fix both of them myself.

Sounds like window regulators on both sides. My X had three regulators in 6 months replaced by the previous owner.

I feel your pain, I was just into both front doors last week to replace a broken door handle on the driver's side and a broken lock actuator on the passenger side.

Try Crevier BMW for the parts. they have a website and good pricing. Don't know of any other place to get regulators other than a dealer.

well the passenger side rolls up just sideways because one of the clips that holds the window broke off. And I wonder if the driver side one is just stuck.

You're not a true X5 owner until you've had at least one window regulator go out on 'ya. Welcome to the club.
